- Emmanuel Forbes Jr. seeks redemption after a difficult rookie season with the Commanders.
The Los Angeles Rams are set to play the Washington Commanders on Sunday, a game that signifies a homecoming for several individuals connected to both franchises. Rams head coach Sean McVay, who previously served as an assistant for the Commanders over seven years before becoming the youngest modern NFL head coach, will return to the city where his coaching career took flight.
Safety Kam Curl is also returning to the Washington region. After spending his first four NFL seasons with the Commanders, Curl was not re-signed and subsequently joined the Rams. He has since earned a contract extension with the Rams and expressed anticipation for playing in front of a familiar crowd, acknowledging the emotional aspect of the reunion.
Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. will also face his former team. Drafted by the Commanders in 2023, Forbes struggled in his rookie season and was later waived. The Rams claimed him, and he has since regained confidence, now potentially seeing increased playing time due to injuries. Forbes has indicated he is a much-improved player since his time with Washington.
