Rams QB Battle: Bennett Shines, Simpson Limited

The Los Angeles Rams continued evaluating their quarterback competition in their second preseason game against the Saints. Stetson Bennett again earned the start, but this time shared snaps more evenly with Ty Simpson. Bennett played the entire first half, demonstrating increased confidence and a wider passing range, including a deep attempt to Tyler Scott and a precise sidearm throw for a conversion. He also utilized his mobility effectively, scoring two rushing touchdowns in the red zone.

While Bennett's performance was largely positive, with a notable increase in average depth of target, some passes still sailed. Ty Simpson's second-half appearance was hampered by circumstances beyond his control. Long drives by the Saints offense, a pick-six, and his own offense starting deep in their territory limited his opportunities. Simpson attempted only 12 passes and also showed some mobility.
