Rams Pursue Blockbuster Trade for Star Linebacker Micah Parsons
1 Aug
Summary
- Rams narrowly missed Super Bowl in 2024, added Davante Adams this offseason
- Micah Parsons requests trade from Cowboys, Rams interested in acquiring him
- Potential trade compensation could mirror Khalil Mack's 2018 deal to Bears

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the Los Angeles Rams are making a push to return to the Super Bowl. After narrowly missing out on the big game in 2024, the Rams have bolstered their offense with the addition of star wide receiver Davante Adams. However, the team is now eyeing a potential defensive upgrade through a blockbuster trade for Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.
Parsons, who has recorded double-digit sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons, recently took to social media to formally request a trade from the Cowboys. This development has caught the attention of the Rams, who are reportedly one of the top teams interested in acquiring the 26-year-old defensive standout.
The potential trade compensation for Parsons could be significant, with the Rams potentially having to part with a package similar to the one the Chicago Bears gave up to acquire Khalil Mack from the Oakland Raiders in 2018. That deal saw the Bears send two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick to the Raiders in exchange for Mack and a second-round pick.
If the Rams are able to pull off a similar blockbuster move, it could be the final piece that propels them back to the Super Bowl. With the team's "F them picks" mentality already paying dividends, a trade for Parsons could be the key to another championship run in Los Angeles.
