20 Aug
Summary
- Trent McDuffie is an All-Pro but has never made a Pro Bowl.
- The Rams traded significant draft capital and extended McDuffie.
- McDuffie has two Super Bowl rings from his time with Kansas City.
Trent McDuffie, a decorated cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams, has achieved All-Pro status twice but has yet to receive a Pro Bowl selection. An NFL analyst suggested this could change in 2026, noting McDuffie was overlooked by voters during his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs. His move to Los Angeles is expected to bring overdue recognition.
The Rams acquired McDuffie in a significant trade, sending multiple draft picks to Kansas City. They followed this by signing him to a four-year, $124 million contract extension, which set NFL records for a cornerback at the time. This substantial investment underscores the Rams' commitment to McDuffie as a key defensive player.
McDuffie's career highlights include first-team All-Pro honors in 2023 with career highs in tackles, forced fumbles, and sacks. He earned second-team All-Pro recognition in 2024, recording a personal best in passes defensed. Despite a knee injury shortening his 2025 season, his overall performance and experience, including two Super Bowl wins with the Chiefs, make him a valuable asset for the Rams' championship aspirations.
