Ghosh's IPL Debut: All-Rounder Shines for CSK!

Ramakrishna Ghosh has officially made his Indian Premier League debut for the Chennai Super Kings, stepping onto the field for their significant encounter against the Mumbai Indians at Chepauk. Acquired at his base price of ₹30 lakh, Ghosh represents one of two changes made by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad to the CSK playing XI. Ghosh replaces Gurjapneet Singh, with Prashant Veer also coming into the side. This debut arrives at a critical juncture for Chennai as they aim to revitalize their season.

Ghosh, a right-arm medium pacer and a right-handed batter, has earned recognition through consistent domestic performances for Maharashtra. He captured widespread attention during the Vijay Hazare Trophy with an exceptional spell of 7 wickets for 42 runs against Himachal Pradesh, marking a significant achievement in List A cricket. His batting prowess was also on display in the same tournament, where he scored a swift 64 runs off just 27 balls against Mumbai. Further showcasing his all-round capabilities, Ghosh delivered impactful performances in the Maharashtra Premier League, including a 52-run innings off 33 balls. His bowling style emphasizes accuracy, seam movement, and consistency, rather than sheer speed. In the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, he secured 11 wickets across six matches, often playing a vital role in controlling the opposition's scoring for Maharashtra's bowling attack.
