The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Monday the signings of defensive end Patrick Johnson, linebacker Buddy Johnson, and wide receiver Deven Thompkins. These players were among eight free agents the team worked out, with running back Miles Sanders not being signed.
Patrick Johnson is entering his sixth NFL season. He previously played for the Eagles in 2025, appearing in nine games and recording three tackles, one sack, and two quarterback hits. His career also includes time with the Eagles from 2021-2025 and the Giants in 2024.
Linebacker Buddy Johnson joins the Raiders for his fifth NFL season, having been drafted by the Steelers in 2021. He has played in 33 games for the Steelers, Cowboys (2023-2025), and Colts (2025), contributing defensively and on special teams. Last season, he spent time on the Cowboys' practice squad before joining the Colts.
Wide receiver Deven Thompkins is set for his fifth NFL season, originally entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Buccaneers in 2022. He has played 36 career games for the Buccaneers, Panthers (2024), and Falcons (2025), tallying 29 receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown, along with 13 carries for 94 yards. Thompkins has also contributed as a returner, accumulating significant yardage on punt and kickoff returns.
In corresponding roster moves, the Raiders waived wide receiver Jonathan Brady, linebacker Chris Thomas, and defensive tackle Laki Tasi.
