Raiders' Rookies Shine: Washington Jr. & Benson Impress

The Las Vegas Raiders have significantly strengthened their roster through aggressive free agency and draft moves, culminating in promising performances during offseason programs, training camp, and preseason games. This has led to the emergence of several key players poised to make an impact in the upcoming season.

Running back Mike Washington Jr. has been a standout performer, amassing 168 yards on 23 carries for an impressive 7.3 yards per attempt across three preseason games. With a potential injury to Ashton Jeanty, Washington Jr. may see extensive work in the season opener.

Wide receiver Malik Benson, a sixth-round selection, has shown expedited progress up the depth chart. Despite a modest preseason stat line, his tantalizing skill set suggests he could secure a legitimate role in the passing attack, competing for snaps with other receivers.

On the defensive side, second-round pick Treydan Stukes is making a strong case for a starting safety position. His versatility has been a crucial factor in his development, and he is expected to be a significant contributor to the Raiders' secondary, which has been a focus for improvement.
