He claimed the crucial wicket of Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Venkatesh Iyer in the second over of the match. This dismissal marked Rabada's 18th wicket within the powerplay overs for IPL 2026. He now stands ahead of former record-holder Mohammed Shami, who had taken 17 wickets in the 2023 season.
