24 Sep
Summary
- Queen of Hawaii seeks her first American stakes victory in the Winter Memories.
- The Irish-bred filly has shown promise in previous races in the US.
- Several other strong contenders are also entered in the competitive turf race.

Irish-bred Queen of Hawaii is poised for a strong showing in Sunday's Grade 3 Winter Memories at Belmont Park, aiming for her inaugural American stakes win. Trained by Philip Antonacci, the filly previously secured a neck victory at Saratoga Race Course in July.
Queen of Hawaii's last performance was a fifth-place finish in the Grade 2 Lake Placid on August 29 at Saratoga. Her trainer noted that circumstances did not favor her in that race, but believes she ran a credible race and is improving.
Ultimate Love, a Florida homebred trained by Michael Trombetta, enters the Winter Memories after a second-place finish in the Lake Placid, earning a career-best Beyer Speed Figure. Sister Troienne, a Kentucky homebred trained by Brian Lynch, boasts a five-race win streak prior to recent starts in graded stakes.
Other notable contenders include Shelzawa and undefeated Crossover Capital, both trained by Chad Brown. The Winter Memories, a one-mile turf test for sophomore fillies, is slated as Race 8 on Sunday's nine-race card at Belmont Park.
