Peshawar Zalmi recorded the highest team total in Pakistan Super League history, scoring a massive 246/3 against Karachi Kings. This landmark achievement surpassed previous records at the National Bank Stadium and for the franchise itself.
The foundation for this extraordinary total was laid by an exceptional 191-run partnership for the second wicket between Kusal Mendis and Babar Azam. Mendis was the aggressor, smashing 109 off 52 balls, while Azam provided solid support with an unbeaten 87 off 51 deliveries.
Azam's innings also marked a personal milestone, as he became the fastest batter in men's T20 history to reach 12,000 runs, achieving this in his 338th inning. Late fireworks from Abdul Samad added 40 off 12 balls.
Chasing a daunting 247, Karachi Kings crumbled to 87 all out in 16.1 overs. Nahid Rana, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Iftikhar Ahmed were the chief destroyers with three wickets each, securing a commanding 159-run victory for Peshawar Zalmi.
