Promitheas Vikos Cola has officially dismissed head coach Giorgos Limniatis, marking a significant change in leadership for the Patras-based club. The decision was made on Monday, during a break for the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, signaling the team's intent to alter its trajectory for the latter half of the 2025-26 season.
The team faces considerable challenges, holding a 2-3 record in Group A of the Basketball Champions League and a less-than-ideal 3-5 win-loss tally in Greece's Stoiximan GBL Regular Season. This tactical shift aims to inject new energy and strategy as they navigate crucial league and continental competitions.
Limniatis, 54, brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached numerous Greek clubs. His coaching journey includes roles as an assistant for the junior national teams of Greece, and for the senior national team of Georgia. He also served as head coach for Lavrio and Maroussi before his tenure at Promitheas.
