Luke Procter has been confirmed as Northamptonshire's County Championship captain for a fourth successive season. The 37-year-old all-rounder took on the leadership role in 2023. Last summer, he demonstrated his all-round capabilities by scoring 787 runs, including two centuries, and taking 18 wickets.
Joining Procter's leadership team is new signing Nathan McSweeney, who will serve as vice-captain. The 26-year-old Australian is available for the entirety of the season. Head coach Darren Lehmann highlighted McSweeney's leadership qualities and experience, stating he will offer great support to Procter's efforts in red-ball cricket.
Northamptonshire is set to commence their Championship Division Two season on April 3rd. Their opening match will be a home fixture against Lancashire.
