PRI Hall of Fame celebrates industry's backbone

The Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Hall of Fame is set to induct two influential figures, the late engine builder Ed Pink and sprint car parts pioneer Shirley Kear Valentine, on Thursday, December 10th. The ceremony will take place at the Indiana Convention Center during the Grand Opening Breakfast, marking the start of the 2026 PRI Show.

Ed Pink, posthumously honored, was renowned for his engine-building expertise, with his creations securing over 100 race wins and national championships in Top Fuel, Funny Car, IndyCar, and more. His work spanned diverse motorsports, earning him the nickname "The Old Master."

Shirley Kear Valentine, alongside her late husband Chuck, co-founded Kear's Speed Shop in 1969. The shop became a critical supplier for the sprint car community, with the family actively supporting racers by traveling to tracks and organizing events. Kear Valentine was previously inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

The PRI Hall of Fame, established in 2024, aims to recognize "difference-makers" in the motorsports industry, focusing on those who contribute to technology, professionalism, and industry growth. Past inductees include figures like Ed Iskenderian and Chris Raschke, emphasizing the induction of individuals who developed, manufactured, or facilitated the sale of racing parts.

The upcoming PRI Show will run from December 10-12 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, featuring over 1,000 exhibitors. Notably, PRI membership is no longer a requirement for attendance, broadening access to the industry event.
