Prasidh Krishna Bounces Back with Stellar Bowling Display at The Oval
2 Aug
Summary
- Prasidh Krishna impresses with 4/62 in comeback performance
- Sanjay Bangar lauds Krishna's lengths and control in first innings
- India targets 300-run total to set challenging fourth-innings target

In the ongoing fifth Test between India and England at The Oval, pacer Prasidh Krishna has made a strong comeback after being sidelined in the first two matches of the series. On Day 2 of the Test, Krishna delivered an impressive performance, returning figures of 4/62 as England slipped from 129/1 to 247 all out.
Former batter Sanjay Bangar was highly impressed with Krishna's efforts, lauding the bowler for his lengths and the control with which he operated. Bangar noted that Krishna was trying to get the length fuller up and used his back-of-length deliveries effectively, not giving England captain Joe Root any width to work with.
With India now leading by 52 runs and ending the day at 75/2, the focus shifts to the visitors' batting performance on Day 3. Bangar expressed the need for all the Indian batters to contribute, as the pitch could get better for batting. He suggested that India would be aiming for a total of around 300 runs, as a target of 275 or more could prove challenging for England to chase, especially with the absence of all-rounder Ben Stokes and the injury to Chris Woakes.
