HS Prannoy has officially withdrawn from the Orleans Masters Super 300 badminton tournament following a shoulder injury. The injury first surfaced during his participation at the recent Swiss Open, where he opted to withdraw from his match to prevent further damage. Subsequent medical scans revealed a minor tear in his shoulder. Prannoy expressed optimism about a swift recovery, aiming to be fit for the Asian Championships scheduled to take place in Ningbo, China.
With Prannoy's withdrawal, the Indian contingent at the Orleans Masters will be spearheaded by emerging talents. Eighth seed Ayush Shetty, currently ranked world No. 25, is expected to be a strong contender. He will compete alongside former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth, Tharun Mannepalli, and Kiran George in the men's singles category. In women's singles, Tanvi Sharma and Malvika Bansod will represent India, with Bansod returning after a knee injury.
The Indian team will also field strong pairs in the doubles events. Hariharan Amsakarunan and M R Arjun are set to compete in men's doubles, while Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will participate in mixed doubles, all striving to secure victories for India.
