Star cornerback Christian Gonzalez and the New England Patriots have yet to finalize a contract extension, despite the team exercising his fifth-year option. Gonzalez, under contract through 2027, has voiced his commitment to playing in New England and hopes for a new deal. His agency's strategy may involve prioritizing the extension for Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who shares the same representation.

According to reports, Witherspoon's deal could establish a market floor for Gonzalez.
