Patrick Ewing Returns to NBA Coaching with Wizards

Patrick Ewing is once again departing the New York Knicks, this time to join the Washington Wizards coaching staff. He has agreed to become an assistant coach under Brian Keefe, a move that highlights Washington's desire for his presence and communication skills with their players. This appointment brings Ewing back to a franchise where his NBA coaching career initially began in 2001. He had previously served as an assistant in Washington before moving on to roles with the Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, and Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets. Ewing also had a stint as the head coach for Georgetown University from 2017 to 2023, leading the Hoyas to the NCAA Tournament in 2021. His return to coaching comes after a period as an advisor and basketball ambassador for the Knicks, culminating in their championship celebration.
