Paralyzed Racer Finds New Purpose and Joy

Professional motocross and Supercross racer Jerry Robin suffered a life-altering injury on April 19, 2025, during a race at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The 29-year-old's crash resulted in shattered T6 vertebrae, a fractured T5, and a broken C2, leading to paralysis from the chest down. Initially facing denial and fear, Robin credits his wife, Jennifer, with providing the strength and reason to continue living during his darkest moments.

The couple's journey began in 2019, leading to their marriage three years later. Jerry, a privateer racer, was climbing the ranks when the accident occurred. Support from the motocross community, particularly the nonprofit Road 2 Recovery, was instrumental in his recovery. They assisted with hospital administration and organized his medivac flight home to California.

Life post-injury has presented significant challenges, but Jerry has maintained a positive outlook, grateful for his upper body function. While the abrupt end to his career and daily routine was difficult, Jerry now embraces a less stressful, slower pace, enjoying time at home, with friends, and even traveling, like a recent trip to Hawaii.
