Panthers Rebuild Hopes for First-Ever Lombardi Trophy

As of July 31st, 2025, the Carolina Panthers are in the midst of a rebuilding effort, hoping to finally capture their first-ever Super Bowl championship. In their 30-year history, the Panthers have made two Super Bowl appearances, but have yet to hoist the coveted Lombardi Trophy.

The team's most recent Super Bowl appearance came in 2016, when they fell to the Denver Broncos by a score of 24-10. Prior to that, the Panthers lost a heartbreaker to the New England Patriots, 32-29, in Super Bowl XXXVIII back in 2004. Now, with a new head coach in Dave Canales and a promising young quarterback in Bryce Young, the Panthers are aiming to break through and claim their maiden Super Bowl title.

Young, the 2023 first-overall draft pick, has yet to fully establish himself as a reliable starter in the NFL. However, the Panthers are hopeful that the talented signal-caller can lead them to glory. The team's defense, which surrendered a league-high 31.4 points per game last season, has also undergone a significant offseason rebuild. With 2023 Pro Bowl defensive tackle Derrick Brown back in the fold, the Panthers are confident they can improve on the defensive side of the ball and challenge the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South division crown.
