24 Jan
Summary
- Rasheed Walker arrested at LaGuardia Airport for firearm possession.
- A firearm and 36 rounds of ammunition were found in his checked bag.
- Walker believed he could legally travel with his Wisconsin-licensed gun.

Rasheed Walker, an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers, was arrested at LaGuardia Airport on Friday morning. The arrest occurred after airport staff discovered a firearm and 36 rounds of ammunition in a locked box within his checked bag. Walker was booked on two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm. His attorney, Arthur L. Aidala, explained that Walker mistakenly believed he could travel with the gun, which is legally licensed in Wisconsin. Aidala expressed confidence that the charges against Walker would eventually be dropped, noting that the Port Authority facilitated the arrest because Walker is only licensed to carry in Wisconsin. The 4-year NFL veteran has been released on his own recognizance, with no bail required. Walker has been a consistent presence on the Packers' offensive line, playing in all 51 regular-season games and all 4 playoff games over the last three years.
