Oregon Ducks Shock CFP Rankings: Ranked No. 23
4 Nov
Summary
- Oregon Ducks ranked 23rd in first CFP rankings.
- Ducks are unranked in Coaches Poll and AP Top 25.
- Oregon still has a path to the Big Ten Title Game.
The Oregon Ducks have made an unexpected appearance in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, securing the No. 23 spot. This placement is particularly surprising as they were not ranked in either the US LBM Coaches Poll or the Associated Press Top 25. The Ducks currently hold a 5-3 record, with losses to Oklahoma State, UCLA, and Illinois.
Despite their current standing, Oregon possesses a theoretical path to the Big Ten Championship Game. This scenario hinges on the team winning their final four scheduled games and benefiting from losses by other conference opponents. Their upcoming game against the 12th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes presents a critical opportunity.
