Onuachu Out: Trabzonspor Faces Hearts Without Star Striker
22 Oct
Summary
- Paul Onuachu ruled out of Europa Conference League match due to injury.
- The Nigerian striker sustained his injury during a victory last Thursday.
- Onuachu might return for the next Turkish league fixture against Rizespor.
Trabzonspor's head coach, Thomas Reis, confirmed that Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu will miss Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League match against Heart of Midlothian. The forward is still recovering from an injury he sustained last week during a 4-2 victory over KuPS. Onuachu had scored the opening goal in that match before being substituted due to the injury.
Speaking at a press conference, Reis stated that Thursday's game would be "too early" for Onuachu's return. However, the coach suggested a possible timeline, indicating the striker might be available for Trabzonspor's upcoming Turkish league fixture against Rizespor. This absence marks a significant blow for Trabzonspor as they prepare to face Hearts in the European competition.
