On November 12, 2022, the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes rolled to a 48-10 victory over the UCLA Bruins. The Buckeyes scored on their first five possessions, with James Peoples leading the way with two touchdowns. Sophomore Lorenzo Styles Jr. also made a highlight-reel play, returning a kickoff 100 yards for a score.
Quarterback Julian Sayin had a strong performance for Ohio State, completing 23 of 31 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown, despite missing his top two targets. Freshman running back Bo Jackson also had a big game, rushing for 112 yards on 15 carries.
For UCLA, the Bruins were without starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who missed the game due to a concussion. Backup Luke Duncan threw for 154 yards in his first collegiate start, but the Bruins' offense struggled to get going against the dominant Buckeyes defense.
