New Zealand has been dealt a significant blow just before their third Test match against England at Trent Bridge. Fast bowler Matt Henry and all-rounder Glenn Phillips have been declared unavailable for selection due to injuries sustained during the previous Test. Henry, who achieved career-best match figures of 11 for 109 and was named Player of the Match at the Oval, is recovering from a calf injury. This injury is expected to keep him out of action for two to four weeks.
Glenn Phillips also played a crucial role in the second Test, scoring his first Test century and becoming the third New Zealander to score centuries in all three international formats. He is suffering from a side strain, and a specific timeline for his return has not yet been announced. In response to these absences, New Zealand has made several changes to their playing XI. Mitchell Santner and Blair Tickner are set to feature, with Kyle Jamieson being rested and Ben Sears taking his place. England has also announced a series of changes to their squad.
