Summary
- Denver Summit FC acquired Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan.
- Houston Dash received $800,000 in transfer funds and more.
- Both players were part of Gotham FC's 2023 championship team.

The 2026 NWSL season has seen an early trade as expansion side Denver Summit FC acquired Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan from the Houston Dash. This move occurred within the inaugural week of play for the Summit FC. The Houston Dash received a substantial package for the players, including $800,000 in intra-league transfer funds and $200,000 in expansion allocation funds. Further potential earnings include $100,000 in add-ons and a future sell-on fee, amounting to a net gain of $850,000 for Houston.
The Dash explained the decision was to "invest in players and resources that support our long-term vision." Ryan and Sheehan were acquired by Houston from Gotham FC in 2025 and were key contributors to Gotham's 2023 NWSL Championship victory. In the 2025 season, Ryan started 24 games with four goals and three assists, while Sheehan started 25 games, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Their limited or absent play in the Dash's 2026 season opener against the San Diego Wave may have signaled this impending trade.
