Magpies Hunt Promotion Sixth Time in Seven Seasons

For the sixth time in seven seasons, Notts County is contending for promotion via the play-offs. Their upcoming semi-final first leg on Sunday will be against Chesterfield, a team they've met in the play-offs twice before in the last six years.

This encounter echoes their National League promotion final win at Wembley three years ago, where they triumphed over Chesterfield on penalties. Jodi Jones, one of the remaining players from that victorious squad, expressed that the current team is filled with players who have experienced such pressure before.

Jones believes the squad enters this play-off campaign with significant "belief and excitement." He noted the team's frequent involvement in "football drama" and their preparedness for intense showdowns. He also recalled his own iconic moment, scoring the late extra-time winner against Boreham Wood in 2023, which propelled them to Wembley.
