Nottingham Forest has revealed exciting plans for a significant expansion of its City Ground, aiming to increase the stadium's capacity to approximately 52,000 spectators. This ambitious project is slated to commence next summer, with extensive work planned for three of the venue's four stands. The initial phase will boost capacity from 31,000 to 45,000.
A subsequent redevelopment of the Brian Clough stand is projected to add an additional 7,000 seats, bringing the total capacity to the proposed 52,000. Visuals of the proposed expansion were shared, receiving support from the Mayor of the East Midlands. Official planning applications are expected later this month.
The club is engaging with stakeholders through drop-in sessions to detail the expansion, which includes a new 58-meter Peter Taylor stand designed by architects who previously worked on Anfield's expansion. This new stand will feature 1500 more seats than Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stand, standing 20 meters taller than originally proposed.
