No Channel Island Derby Next Season
14 May
Summary
- Jersey Bulls moved to Isthmian League South Central for 2026-27.
- Guernsey FC faces promotion playoff final on May 23rd.
- Island clubs have never played each other officially.
The prospect of a Channel Island derby in the Isthmian League next season has been definitively ended. Jersey Bulls will compete in the Isthmian League South Central division for the 2026-27 campaign. This move comes after Jersey Bulls reached the playoff semi-finals in the Isthmian League South East division this past season, ultimately losing on penalties.
Meanwhile, Guernsey FC is on the cusp of promotion. Should Guernsey FC secure a win in their play-off final, scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd, they will be placed in the Isthmian League South East division. Guernsey FC was relegated from the Isthmian League South Central division last season, having been a part of it since the 2021-22 season.
Despite the geographical proximity and shared island status, the two clubs have never faced each other in an official league match. However, players from both Guernsey FC and Jersey Bulls will compete against each other on Saturday when they represent their respective island football associations in the annual Muratti Vase final.
