Nigel Mansell Backs Lewis Hamilton for Record Title

Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula 1 world champion, has openly stated his deep admiration for fellow British driver Lewis Hamilton. Mansell expressed a fervent wish for Hamilton to secure his record-breaking eighth world championship, calling the potential achievement "special." He conveyed this sentiment during a recent interview, highlighting Hamilton's brilliant career and current drive. Mansell also noted that while Lando Norris has many years ahead of him to compete for titles, he is rooting for Hamilton to "finish it off" this season.

Hamilton's pursuit of an eighth championship famously ended controversially in 2021, with Max Verstappen ultimately claiming the title. After moving to Ferrari for the 2025 season, Hamilton experienced a difficult start, describing it as a "nightmare" despite an early Sprint race victory in China. However, he has demonstrated improved form and a happier demeanor in the current season, securing a third-place podium at the Chinese Grand Prix. As of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Hamilton is fourth in the drivers' championship with 41 points, trailing his teammate Charles Leclerc.
