Newcastle Advances for Man City Midfielder

Newcastle United is reportedly making significant progress in their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez. Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the two clubs are nearing an agreement for the Spanish international.

Gonzalez, who joined City from FC Porto in January 2025, has spent 18 months at the club. Despite showing promise and filling in for Rodri last season, his role in the current squad appears limited, especially with the recent signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi and Marc Guehi being preferred in midfield.

While Gonzalez is reportedly content to stay and compete for his place, Manchester City is open to selling him. Newcastle is now in talks with the player, aiming to finalize the deal early this week, signaling a likely departure for Gonzalez from the Etihad Stadium.
