The wait concludes at La Ribera as Boca Juniors officially welcomes Ángel Romero, marking the club's inaugural signing for the 2026 season. Romero is scheduled for his medical evaluation this Tuesday, with a contract signing to follow. His incorporation addresses a strategic need for the Football Council, especially after earlier transfer targets did not materialize.
Arriving as a free agent, the 33-year-old Paraguayan forward is expected to provide crucial experience and attacking flair to Claudio Úbeda's squad. This move signifies Romero's return to Argentine football, having previously played for San Lorenzo and in Brazil. His presence is anticipated to create an ideal partnership with Edinson Cavani, bolstering the team's offensive capabilities ahead of their Torneo Apertura debut.
