Summary
- Fox and CBS set record viewership for Thanksgiving NFL games.
- Cowboys-Chiefs game became most-watched regular-season NFL game ever.
- New Nielsen measurement contributed to higher reported numbers.

Both Fox and CBS have established new viewership benchmarks with their recent NFL Thanksgiving Day games. The Green Bay Packers' victory over the Detroit Lions on Fox drew an impressive 47.7 million viewers, marking Fox's highest-rated regular-season game ever and a record for an early Thanksgiving window broadcast.
Later, CBS captured a staggering 57.23 million viewers for the Kansas City Chiefs' win against the Dallas Cowboys. This audience size represents the largest ever for any regular-season NFL game on any network and significantly surpassed previous Thanksgiving game viewership figures.
These record-breaking numbers are partly attributed to Nielsen's updated measurement system, which now incorporates out-of-home viewing nationwide. This enhanced methodology has provided a boost to live sports viewership figures compared to previous years.
