Newcastle's Shock Champions League Comeback
25 Feb
Summary
- Newcastle leads Champions League in scoring with 26 goals.
- Team secured knockout stage after recent poor form.
- Defender Dan Burn states team can compete with any opponent.
Newcastle has experienced a significant turnaround, demonstrating impressive form in Europe's elite competition. Despite recent criticism after a home loss earlier this month, manager Eddie Howe's side has secured a place in the Champions League knockout stage.
The team has become the top scorers in the Champions League, netting 26 goals. This resurgence follows a period of soul-searching after a defeat, with players reportedly determined to "fight for the manager." Newcastle has since won four of their last five games across all competitions.
Newcastle has proven their mettle against top European clubs, drawing with Paris Saint-Germain and narrowly losing to Barcelona. Defender Dan Burn expressed confidence, stating the team can "compete with anybody" and elevates their game against stronger opposition.
