Newcastle Eyes Hojbjerg Amidst Midfield Rebuild

Newcastle United is reportedly making a significant push to acquire midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg. This strategic move comes as the club seeks to reinvest in its midfield options after losing both Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães. Both Tonali and Guimarães have transferred to North London clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, respectively.

Hojbjerg, a Danish international with substantial Premier League experience from his previous tenures at Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur between 2016 and 2024, is viewed as a priority signing. He finalized a permanent move to Marseille last summer after an initial loan spell. During the previous season, Hojbjerg was a regular for Marseille, participating in 43 matches across all competitions, contributing five goals and five assists.
