Nebraska Hosts Unprecedented Back-to-Back Football & Volleyball Broadcasts

Fox Sports is set to make history this Saturday by broadcasting its first-ever over-the-air football-volleyball doubleheader from the same university campus. The day's events at the University of Nebraska will feature the Indiana-Nebraska football game in the morning window, followed by the Wisconsin-Nebraska volleyball match in the evening.

This unique broadcasting endeavor, a first for the network, was made possible by Nebraska's strong September performance and a high-profile matchup against defending national champion Indiana. The football game between the then-undefeated Huskers and Hoosiers is a key draw.

Prior to the football kickoff, Fox's popular college football pre-game show, "Big Noon Kickoff," will originate live from Lincoln. The show's hosts and analysts are scheduled to appear, with Nebraska volleyball stars also slated for guest spots.

Beyond the Lincoln doubleheader, Fox will also televise the Houston-Kansas State football game later on Saturday. This strategic scheduling allows Fox to creatively cross-promote football and volleyball, a priority for the Big Ten conference and its media partners.

The network views women's volleyball as a sport with significant growth potential, akin to the trajectory observed with women's basketball a few years prior. Nebraska volleyball is highlighted as a major driver of viewership, consistently leading the nation in attendance and television draw.

Earlier this season, a Big Ten and Fox collaboration included an outdoor doubleheader at Wrigley Field. Despite weather-related issues that suspended one match, the event showcased the strong brand and fan support for Nebraska volleyball.
