NC State Wolfpack Looks to Bounce Back Against Virginia Tech

The NC State Wolfpack are looking to bounce back this Saturday night as they host the Virginia Tech Hokies in an ACC matchup. Last weekend, the Wolfpack suffered their first loss of the 2025 season, falling 43-33 to Duke in a close game. Quarterback CJ Bailey had a strong performance, throwing for 364 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he also tossed 3 interceptions. Running back Hollywood Smothers provided a bright spot, rushing for 123 yards and a score.

On the other hand, Virginia Tech is coming off their first win of the season, a 38-6 victory over Wofford last Saturday. Quarterback Kyron Drones had an impressive outing, throwing for 307 yards and accounting for 4 total touchdowns, 2 passing and 2 rushing.

This weekend's game at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh will be the Hokies' first ACC contest of the year. NC State, now 3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play, will be aiming to get back on track and avoid falling further behind in the ACC standings. The Wolfpack will then have a non-conference matchup against Campbell next week before returning to league play.
