NBA Season Opener: Sixers & Knicks Clash!

The 2026-27 NBA regular season is set to begin on Tuesday, October 20th, with a star-studded tripleheader broadcast on NBC and Peacock. The Boston Celtics will face the Detroit Pistons at 3 p.m. ET, followed by a highly anticipated contest between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. ET. This game marks the Knicks' first championship banner raising since 1973 and will feature the Sixers' new acquisitions, LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, in their team debuts.

The opening week's excitement continues with ESPN doubleheaders on October 21st and 22nd, featuring matchups like the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers. Prime Video will air additional games on October 23rd, including the Knicks vs. Celtics and Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs.

Opening night will also host a Western Conference Finals rematch between the San Antonio Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, fronted by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Subsequent games will highlight other significant player debuts and rivalries, setting the stage for an action-packed season.
