The NBA is revitalizing its All-Star Game with a "America vs. The World" theme, designed to enhance competitive play by tapping into national pride. This year's event will transform into a round-robin tournament, featuring two American teams and one international "World" team. Each team is mandated to have a minimum of eight players, with participants drawn from both Eastern and Western conferences.
Four games will comprise the tournament, each lasting 12 minutes. The format includes Team A versus Team B, followed by the winner playing Team C, and the loser of the first game facing Team C. The championship game will pit the top two teams by record against each other, with point differential serving as a tiebreaker if needed.
All-Star Weekend is scheduled to occur from Friday, February 13, to Sunday, February 15. The host venue for this exciting competition will be the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, known as the home of the Clippers.
