Nationals Roster Move: Herz to 60-Day IL
12 Feb
Summary
- Herz placed on 60-day injured list due to elbow injury.
- Move clears roster spot for newly signed Miles Mikolas.
- Herz expected to return around the All-Star break.
Washington Nationals pitcher Joanthan Herz was placed on the 60-day injured list on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, due to an elbow injury. This roster transaction creates an opening for Miles Mikolas, who officially signed a one-year deal with the club on the same day.
Hers underwent Tommy John surgery in April of the previous year. While his readiness to start throwing is currently uncertain, he is projected to return to play around the All-Star break.
This move impacts the Nationals' pitching rotation as they integrate Mikolas into the lineup for the upcoming season.
