Napoli's hopes of securing a victory in their upcoming Serie A match against Atalanta are heavily reliant on the availability of Scott McTominay. The team has experienced a notable downturn in performance without the Scotland international on the field this season.

This season, Napoli has recorded two defeats and one draw in matches where McTominay was unavailable. His absence was felt in recent games against Como in the Coppa Italia and Roma in Serie A, which resulted in a draw and a penalty shootout loss, and a 2-2 stalemate, respectively. An earlier loss to Torino also occurred without him.
