Napoli is currently navigating an unprecedented period of difficulty due to a severe injury crisis, with over ten first-team players unavailable. This includes significant absences like Kevin De Bruyne and Amir Rrahmani. Despite these challenges, former Napoli striker Goran Pandev expressed confidence in the team's ability to perform against Chelsea.
Pandev specifically pointed to Scott McTominay, whom he regards as one of the top three midfielders in Europe, as a reason for optimism. He stated that having such a player allows the team to feel confident. Napoli is set to host Chelsea at the Stadio Maradona this evening in a critical Champions League match.
The team has accumulated eight points from seven Champions League games this season, securing only two victories. Their current standing sees them outside the top 24 due to a poor goal difference of -5. McTominay has been a notable contributor this season, with nine goals and four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
