Napoli President Calls for 25-Min Halves, No Red Cards

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has voiced concerns that football is alienating younger audiences, advocating for significant rule modifications. He suggests reducing each half of a match from 45 minutes to 25 minutes.

De Laurentiis also proposed an end to yellow and red cards. Instead, he suggested players who commit offenses receive temporary suspensions, such as being sent off for five or twenty minutes.

Furthermore, the Partenopei chief highlighted the need for more spectacular play, indicating that offside rules should be altered to allow more goals. He expressed concern that current rules, like disallowing goals for minimal infractions, deter engagement.
