Mukul Choudhary, a 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, delivered a match-winning performance for the Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday night. He remained unbeaten on 54 runs from just 27 deliveries, including seven sixes, in a remarkable display of power-hitting. This came after a stellar showing in the 2025/26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he amassed 173 runs at an exceptional strike rate just shy of 200. His earlier performances included over 600 runs in an age-group competition, catching the eye of state selectors. Choudhary was subsequently acquired for INR 2.60 crore, with both Mumbai Indians and LSG vying for his signature. He took up wicketkeeping by chance during academy games in Rajasthan. His journey began in Jhunjhunu, moving to Jaipur to pursue cricket, and joining an academy that also trained IPL stars Kartik Sharma and Ashok Sharma. Kartik's absence due to injury paved the way for Choudhary's opportunity in the SMAT.
