3 Sep
Summary
- Freshman wide receiver Rai'shawn Elmore suspended indefinitely.
- Elmore was a former three-star recruit from North Carolina.
- Suspension occurs days before the upcoming season opener.
Michigan State freshman wide receiver Rai'shawn Elmore has been indefinitely suspended from the team, with the program confirming the decision. The reasons for Elmore's suspension remain undisclosed. He has been removed from the team's online roster, and his player profile is no longer accessible.
Elmore, originally from Indian Trail, North Carolina, joined Michigan State's 2026 recruiting class late. He previously decommitted from East Carolina before committing to the Spartans in November 2025. His recruitment class ranking was among the lower-tiered scholarship commitments for Michigan State in 2026.
While Elmore was not projected to be a major contributor to the Spartans' offense this season, his suspension signals a challenging start to his college football career. The team, which faces Toledo in its season opener, is expected to utilize a rotation at wide receiver, providing opportunities for young players.
