Motherwell Boss Warns Against Cup Complacency

Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson has issued a strong caution against underestimating their upcoming League Cup opponents, Stenhousemuir. He described any complacency as "the most stupid thing in the world to do," underscoring the importance of respecting all competitors.

Johansson stressed that both domestic cups are highly valued by Motherwell's supporters and the club, recognizing their significant tradition in Scotland. The team's ambition is to replicate or surpass their performance last season, when they reached the semi-finals.

Recalling past struggles, even in the group stages against lower-league teams, Johansson highlighted that Stenhousemuir had previously frustrated Motherwell. He reiterated that his approach is to prepare thoroughly and aim for victory, showing zero complacency.

This League Cup tie comes as Motherwell also prepares for a Conference League play-off against Freiburg, a team that reached the Europa League final last year. Johansson sees these demanding fixtures as opportunities for the club.
