GRC's Gay Chooses EKU Over D1 Offers

Montez Gay, a senior from George Rodgers Clark, officially announced his verbal commitment to Eastern Kentucky University on September 21st. The highly sought-after 6-foot-6 small forward selected the Colonels' program, turning down offers from other Division 1 schools including Ohio, Akron, and Morehead State. Gay's decision comes after a standout junior season where he led his GRC team to the school's second KHSAA Sweet 16 title. During that championship run, he was the team's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 16.8 points and 6.2 boards per game. He joins other recent Central Kentucky talents who have played for EKU.
