Bosnian midfielder Samir Zeljkovic was the hero, netting the game's only goal. He skillfully controlled a precise lob from Abdul Sahal Samad before outmaneuvering the East Bengal goalkeeper. This strike secured the championship for Mohun Bagan.
The triumph marks the club's 22nd IFA Shield title. Significantly, this victory also sees Mohun Bagan achieve a rare double, winning both the Calcutta Football League (CFL) and the IFA Shield in the same season. This remarkable feat has not been accomplished for almost thirty years.
