Charlotte is buzzing with events leading up to the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday night. Starting this past Saturday, July 25th, a free two-night "Soccer Celebration" fan festival has been underway at Romare Bearden Park, featuring live music, games, and player appearances.
Monday evening, July 27th, marked the "All-Star Hometown Heroes" event, honoring four nonprofit leaders from the Carolinas who will each receive a $15,000 grant, generously matched by the Tepper Foundation, totaling $120,000 for community support. Charlotte FC midfielder Brandt Bronico serves as the ambassador for this program.
Further festivities include the MLS NEXT All-Star Game on Monday night, showcasing top youth prospects, and the Community Day and Skills Challenge on Tuesday. The week's events are designed to engage the community and celebrate soccer's growth.
The schedule also includes the 11th annual Special Olympics event on Wednesday morning before the main MLS All-Star Game takes place at Bank of America Stadium that evening.
