Summary
- Phillies' late-season struggles contrast with Braves' division title.
- White Sox make historic postseason debut after three losing seasons.
- Yankees face Judge's uncertain status amid pitching dominance.
The Major League Baseball postseason begins Tuesday with a full slate of wild card games. The Philadelphia Phillies, who endured a difficult September, will face the Atlanta Braves, who secured their division title with consistent performances from key players.
The Chicago White Sox are making franchise history as they enter the playoffs for the first time since 2021, becoming the first team to reach the postseason after three consecutive 100-loss seasons, driven by a strong offense. They are set to face the Houston Astros.
In another highly anticipated matchup, the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees. The Yankees, despite significant injuries to stars like Aaron Judge, have relied on breakout pitching performances and veteran leadership to secure a playoff spot. Judge's potential return remains a central storyline for the Yankees as they prepare for this intense rivalry series.
