8 Nov
Summary
- Milan recalls Modric, Pulisic, and Moreira for Genoa clash.
- Genoa boasts three consecutive wins under De Rossi.
- Milan faces injuries, fielding an unusual defense against Genoa.
AC Milan faces a challenging encounter with Daniele De Rossi's Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Manager Ruben Amorim's squad sees the return of experienced players such as Luka Modric, Christian Pulisic, and Diego Moreira. This reshuffle comes after inconsistent performances, including a recent Europa League loss.
The Rossoneri are hampered by numerous injuries, with key players like Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek sidelined. This forces an unconventional defensive setup, with Yunus Musah expected to play at left-back and Sankhoun Diawara partnering in central defense. Despite these challenges, Milan hopes to leverage the experience of their returning stars.
Genoa, in contrast, has experienced a remarkable turnaround. After a difficult start to the season, Daniele De Rossi's guidance has led to three consecutive wins against Venezia, Juventus, and Lecce. The team's form has dramatically improved, with only one slip-up against Roma in their last five matches.
Genoa has a largely fit squad, allowing De Rossi to select from a full complement of players. Notable figures include former Milan player Junior Messias and Milutin Osmajic, who has impressed with four goals in nine Serie A appearances. Genoa's home record against Milan is poor, with no wins since March 2020.
